  Logico Smart Card Client

LOGiCO's core competence is the development of „Secure User Authentication“ solutions based on smart cards for various environments and end user systems.

The Secure Smart Card (SSC) software portfolio consists of a comprehensive client product, a central administration and issuing tool. In addition, LOGiCO offers a development kit for developing applications that need smart card based user authentication functionality.

The LOGiCO SSC Software Suite embraces the following modules:

  • Smart Card Client
  • Smart Card Admin and Issuer Component (Remote administration, logging, user configuration, card personalization, and card roll-out)
  • Smart Card Developer Tools (Integration of third party applications)

The over-all smart card technology by LOGiCO is based on the flexible LOGiCO Secure Smart Card (SSC) Interface. It corresponds to relevant ISO standards, ITU-T and RSA PKCS specifications! The Software Suite complies to HIPAA and to § 14 DSG 2000. Here you can find an overview of the most important standards and norms.

Features

Why use LOGiCO Secure User Authentication?

  • The traditional system logon via user name and password is not secure!

Humans have only limited active remembering capabilities and remember just a few passwords. However, passwords should regularly be changed to guarantee the highest protection level. Passwords are therefore often written on "insecure" notes (Post-it® syndrome).

  • It is easy to discover others' user names and passwords!

Other employees' user names and passwords are used and passed over unconcernedly. Unauthorized employees spy out passwords (shoulder surfing) and gain access to and manipulate sensitive data.

What can you do to minimize the risk?

  • Using smart cards provide strong two-factor authentication, i.e. a PIN (authentication by knowledge) and the card itself (authentication by possession) are needed to logon on.
  • Using biometric authentication introduces another security level (authentication by identity).

What does LOGiCO Secure User Authentication offer?

  • Secure logon to operating systems
  • Secure logon to applications
  • Secure logon to Web sites or browser-based applications
  • Secure logon to Citrix MetaFrame environments
  • Secure logon to Microsoft Terminal Server environments
  • Signing and encryption with digital certificates
  • Remote administration of all smart cards, card users, and client workstations

What benefits does LOGiCO Secure User Authentication bear?

  • Reduced potential damage risk
  • Increased productivity
  • Simplified logon procedures
  • Reduced helpdesk requests regarding passwords
  • Reduced licensing costs
  • Multi-functional company cards including physical access control, time registration, canteen accounting, and much more
