Server FeaturesDisaster Recovery

The disaster recovery option uses windows printer error notifications and looks for errors on the print queue. It also looks for printer manufacture error notifications to set off the disaster permission and notifications.

  • If the printer fails automatically move the print job to another printer. If the printer fails automatically copy the print job to another printer. If the printer fails automatically pause the print job. If the printer fails automatically delete the print job. If the printer fails notify users by pop-up message. If the printer fails notify Administrator by pop-up message.

  • If the printer fails notify by SNMP.

Load Balancing

Load balancing can be done in many ways. Besides the two obvious ways of # of print jobs and print queue memory size, daisy chains of printers can be setup up and the jobs can be automatically moved between print queues. When a print queue opens up the print job can then print.Load Balance by number Print Jobs

  • If the print queue has more than X number of print jobs move the print job to another printer. If the print queue has more than X number of print jobs copy the print job to another printer. If the print queue has more than X number of print jobs pause the print job.

  • If the print queue has more than X number of print jobs delete the print job.

Load Balance by Print Queue Memory Size

  • If the print queue is bigger than X number of bytes move the print job to another printer. If the print queue is bigger than X number of bytes copy the print job to another printer. If the print queue is bigger than X number of bytes pause the print job.

  • If the print queue is bigger than X number of bytes delete the print job.

Load Balance Notifications

  • If load balancing has taken effect notify the user by pop-up message. If load balancing has taken effect notify the Administrator by pop-up message.

  • If load balancing has taken effect notify by SNMP.

Automatic Print Job Manipulation

This automatic print job manipulation allows many different scenarios to be played out. Using this as a print release station to moving and coping print jobs from one print queue to another. The applications of this feature is endless on an enterprise.

  • Automatically Move a print job from one print queue to another. Automatically Copy a print job from one print queue to another or multiple queues. Automatically pause the print jobs individually. Automatically delete the print jobs. Notify user if print job has been moved by pop-up message. Notify user if print job has been copied by pop-up message. Notify user if print job has been paused by pop-up message. Notify user if print job has been deleted by pop-up message. Notify Administrator by pop-up message.

Print Broadcasting

This feature is very robust allowing a print queue to be setup and when one prints to this it will copy that print jobs to one or multiple print queues over an enterprise.

  • View a single print queue. By clicking a folder you can view all print queues in the folder on one screen. Purge, pause, resume, restart, and delete all print queues in a Print Folder. Purge, pause, resume, restart, and delete a print queue. Pause, resume, restart, and delete a print job.

  • Sort print jobs in aprint queue by:

    • Document Name Printer Name Status Page Count Owner Time Submitted Job Number Priority

    • Size

  • View a print job's properties. Edit Document Title. Edit Priority.

Requirements
Release Station Option:

Requirements: Installs on IIS Server running on your print server only .NET, SP 1, Runs with all Print Manager Plus 6.0 versions.

This option allows an Administrator or users to login to a web page using Active Directory Authentication. It will then show the user his print jobs in a print queue or the Administrator all of the print jobs in all print queues.

It will display this information to the Administrator or User:

* User Name
* Document Name
* Printer Name
* # Pages/Inches/CM
* Tie Submitted
* Job Cost
* Page Size
* Color
* Duplex

It will then give the option to the Administrator or User to Delete or Resume the print job from the print queue.

The program is web based and can be installed on your IIS Server with a simple installation option. There is a charge for this product. Only one license must be purchased for the entire site.

Workstation Connected Printer Agent:Requirements: Installs on Windows NT/2000/XP Workstation and runs with all Print Manager Plus 6.0 versions.

This application based product can be installed on a workstation and allows the Administrator to Monitor, Quota, and Restrict printing on the locally attached printer and any users printing to that workstation connected printer.

This tool is great for companies that have locally attached workstations that they cannot monitor or Large Format Printers that they do not want to send large print jobs over the network to through their print server.

Once the product is installed on the workstation the Workstation Connected Printer Service will appear under the services tab in Print Manager Plus. Also all printers locally attached to that workstation will appear under the printers tab. The local service can be Stopped, Started, and Restarted remotely. The service can also be updated remotely using E-Update.

There is a charge for this product. It is licensed per workstation with a locally connected printer.
